Open the door. Let the dogs out. Get on with your morning.
That’s a luxury in itself. At Northumberland Dog Stays, we’ve done the hard part: searched the cottage sites, inspected the garden photographs and read the guest reviews. The result is three Beadnell enclosed garden stays where “enclosed” actually looks safe and secure, rather than being another box ticked on the listing. No garden is completely dog-proof, but these three deserve a proper look.
Our Shortlist
Three Properties We’d Book
Each one chosen for clearly enclosed outdoor space, practical features for dogs and walking access to Beadnell Bay. All three properties welcome two dogs, have enclosed outdoor space and sit within walking distance of Beadnell Bay. Take a look through the shortlist below and check availability on each property page. If none of the three is quite right, browse all Beadnell holiday cottages for dogs for more places to stay in the village.
3 BEDROOMS · SLEEPS 5 · 2 DOGS WELCOME · ENCLOSED LAWN GARDEN
Sunnysands stands out for three reasons: a truly huge enclosed lawn, direct access from the living room, and great feedback from dog owners. It’s in a quiet part of Beadnell, and recent guests say the beach is about a five-minute walk away.
French doors open right onto the big lawn and a decked seating area, so your dogs can head outside without walking through the rest of the house. The garden gets sun all day, and a side gate makes it easy to come back in with wet beach gear. There’s also an outdoor tap and hose for washing sandy paws.
The best proof comes from guests who have stayed here. They often say the garden is secure for dogs, including small breeds, two Labradors, and even one determined escape artist. It would take a very agile dog to jump those fences. Dogs aren’t allowed upstairs, and there’s a stair gate, so keep that in mind if your dog usually sleeps in the bedroom.
Beadnell Bay and the village pubs are close enough to walk to, so you can leave the car parked most of the time. Sunnysands is also great for coastal walks to Seahouses or Low Newton. Once the dogs are settled downstairs, the king-size bedroom’s Juliet balcony gives you sea views towards the Farne Islands and Dunstanburgh Castle.
3 BEDROOMS · SLEEPS 6 · 2 DOGS WELCOME · ENCLOSED LAWN AND PATIO
High Sea View has a secure back garden with a grassy lawn, patio, and outdoor furniture. You can bring up to two dogs, and the house is only 0.7 miles from Beadnell Beach. The garden gives your dogs room to play, and there is a separate paved area for outdoor dining.
The ground floor has an open-plan layout with wooden floors in the kitchen, dining, and sitting areas. French doors open directly to the garden, so you can see the lawn while cooking, eating, or relaxing inside. There is off-road parking for two cars at the front.
The listing allows two well-behaved dogs. The garden fencing reaches just below the shed roof, creating a high boundary around the lawn. A £250 Good Housekeeping bond is also required.
The village shop is 0.8 miles away, and the pub is also within a mile, so you can walk to pick up essentials or enjoy a meal. The house has three floors, with a double and a twin room on the first floor, and a king-size bedroom above. The top-floor bedroom has a window at the back with a wide sea view, which is where the name High Sea View comes from.
3 BEDROOMS · SLEEPS 5 · 2 DOGS WELCOME · ENCLOSED WALLED COURTYARD
Old Harbour Cottage features an enclosed courtyard garden behind a traditional stone cottage dating from 1765. French doors open from the kitchen and dining area into the courtyard, and Beadnell Beach is just 0.3 miles away. You can bring up to two dogs, and there is off-road parking for four cars.
The courtyard is fully paved and has a large dining table, outdoor seating, and a barbecue. Low stone walls surround the area, so dogs that are great jumpers may need to be watched. Three stone steps lead up to a garden area and gate.
There is an outdoor tap for washing boots and paws after a trip to the beach. The sunroom at the entrance is a handy spot to leave coats, leads, and walking boots before heading inside. The lounge retains its original beams and inglenook stone fireplace, with a wood burner for chilly days.
Beadnell’s pubs, restaurants, village shop and beachside café are all a short walk away. The coast path offers longer walks to Seahouses or Low Newton. After dinner, the courtyard fire pit gives everyone a reason to stay outside once the table has been cleared.
Secure outdoor space may be the priority, but you might also want to compare our Beach Stays or Large Group Stays collections if those better match your plans.
