Why Book a Dog-Friendly Holiday in Amble?

Amble dog-friendly cottages range from compact coastal apartments and traditional terraces to contemporary marina homes, covering romantic breaks, family holidays and larger-group stays. Some add enclosed gardens, private hot tubs or sea views, while boot rooms, courtyards and outside taps make sandy paws easier to manage.

Location is a large part of the appeal. Stay near Amble Harbour, and you can browse Harbour Village’s independent shops, gifts and local produce before walking beside the mouth of the River Coquet. Sunday is market day on the quayside. Enjoy the added bustle, but it can become very busy, with plenty of dogs moving between the stalls on leads.

Little Shore Beach is close to the harbour, but dogs are not permitted on the beach from 1 May to 30 September. Amble Links Beach has no seasonal dog restriction, making it a better choice for sandy walks and rock pools throughout the year. From here, sections of the Northumberland Coast Path open up longer days outside, while Warkworth Castle welcomes dogs on leads, although they are not permitted at the Hermitage.

Amble is particularly strong for food. Choices run from high-quality seafood restaurants and fresh harbour produce to traditional fish and chips, with plenty of takeaways among the town’s terraced streets. Eat out when it suits, or take something back to your cottage when the harbour is busy.
