Dog-friendly cottages in Bamburgh place you minutes from Bamburgh Beach, with village accommodation close to coastal paths, historic landmarks, and year-round dog walking routes.
Bamburgh dog-friendly cottages range from traditional stone terraced cottages just off Front Street to larger coastal houses near The Wynding and Links Road. Interiors typically feature private gardens, open-plan living areas for drying sandy paws, ground-floor bedrooms, and woodburners that matter outside peak summer. Small cosy cottages suit couples, while larger multi-bedroom houses work for families with two or more dogs. Parking varies; central cottages may rely on street parking, whereas edge-of-village properties offer more certainty during peak season.

History
Bamburgh Castle stands above the village and is just a five-minute walk from most holiday cottages. Dogs can join you on short leads in the outdoor grounds, which cover about nine acres, but they aren’t allowed inside the castle itself. It’s worth planning ahead. Many owners let their dogs run in the sand dunes below the castle before heading in, since leads are required inside. Parking at Bamburgh Castle’s on-site car park costs £6 per day. The road-level car park opposite the castle is council-run and separate from the castle car park.
Bamburgh Beach runs for about 2.5 to 3 miles between Seahouses and Budle Bay. Dogs are welcome all year on the main stretch, with no seasonal restrictions. If you’re staying near Front Street, you can reach the beach path in just a few minutes. Early mornings are quieter with fewer dogs, while afternoons are good for shorter walks through the dunes or past St Aidan’s Church.
