Our Shortlist
Three Stays Where the Pub Is Practically Your Neighbour
Each is a dog-friendly stay with an equally dog-welcoming pub just a short walk away. Beadnell has plenty more holiday cottages within an easy walk of its pubs, but start with our shortlist below. If none of the three is quite right, see our full collection of dog-approved holiday properties in Beadnell and find more options that keep the village, dog walks and a good local close at hand.
2 BEDROOMS · SLEEPS 4 · 1 DOG WELCOME · TWO VILLAGE PUBS NEARBY
1 Smugglers Cove sits in exactly the right part of Beadnell for this list. The Craster Arms and Beadnell Towers are both only a few minutes away on foot, giving you a traditional village pub and a smarter bar and kitchen within the same small pocket of Beadnell.
The stone-built cottage keeps some of that village character indoors. The open-plan lounge and dining room has a wood burner for colder evenings, while the dining area overlooks the garden. A smart kitchen and large walk-in shower give the interior a polished finish behind its traditional frontage.
One dog is welcome, and the small lawn and patio provide outdoor space between walks. The boundary is low, however, so owners of determined dogs may need to supervise them. Beadnell Bay is under ten minutes away, making the pubs an easy stop before or after the beach.
The Craster Arms is one of Beadnell’s best-known pubs, with a roomy beer garden, live entertainment and dogs welcomed inside and out. Beadnell Towers offers a different sort of evening, with dogs always welcome in its bar. Staying this close means you can try both and decide which one feels like your local in Beadnell.
2 BEDROOMS · SLEEPS 4 · 1 DOG WELCOME · QUIET SETTING CLOSE TO TWO PUBS
Sunnyside Cove puts you close to Beadnell’s social centre without placing you directly beside it. This detached bungalow sits along a quiet lane, with The Craster Arms, Beadnell Towers, and Salt Water Café all within a few minutes’ walk. You can call in for a drink or meal whenever you want.
Everything is arranged on the ground floor. French doors fill the open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining area with light and open directly onto the garden. There is a breakfast bar, a full dining table and a modern wood burner, giving the bungalow a brighter, more contemporary feel than the traditional cottage above. The king-size and twin bedrooms both have blackout blinds, and the twin has a pull-out bed for a child.
The enclosed garden means you can let the dog outside while getting ready for the day. French doors open onto the gated patio and lawn, while the wide hallway has room for leads, boots and damp coats. Beadnell Bay and the coastal path are around five minutes away, putting the pub naturally at the end of a beach walk.
The garden has seating and a fire pit, so you can sit outside at night when you get back from the pub.
2 BEDROOMS · SLEEPS 5 · 2 DOGS WELCOME · VILLAGE PUBS A FIVE-MINUTE WALK
Sea Croft has fields behind the garden and Beadnell’s pubs five minutes’ walk from the front door. That makes it especially good for anyone who wants the pub to be part of the stay but still likes a bit of space around the cottage.
Once you climb the exterior steps, everything is arranged on one level. The kitchen, dining area and lounge share one open-plan room, with a wood burner and a separate sunroom overlooking the back. There is a king-size bedroom and a family room containing a double and single bed, plus a recently updated bathroom with a walk-in rainfall shower.
Two dogs are welcome, and the enclosed garden means you can let them outside while breakfast gets started. There is a lawn, patio, outdoor seating and a barbecue. The exterior steps are fairly steep, so they are worth checking in the photographs if you have an older dog.
The beach is also reached on foot, so a dog walk and a visit to the pub can easily sit in the same part of the day. Five minutes after leaving the pub, you can be back in the sunroom looking across the fields.
