Romantic Dog-Friendly Stays in Beadnell for Couples

If it’s a special occasion, these romantic cottages deliver a fantastic couples’ stay.

Some breaks matter more than others. The best romantic dog-friendly stays in Beadnell let couples shut out the world and keep the focus entirely on each other, with a dog or two sharing the attention. We chose these three for sea views from the sofa, sunny gardens for drinks, and the beach and village pubs close by.

Our Shortlist

1 BEDROOM · SLEEPS 2 · 3 DOGS WELCOME · PRIVATE SOUTH-FACING GARDEN

Shell Cottage is designed with couples in mind. This romantic retreat has been renovated to a high standard, featuring a bright open-plan layout and a bedroom that opens onto the garden. It offers the polished, private atmosphere you want for a special getaway together.

The breakfast bar is set for two under colourful glass pendant lights, and the L-shaped sofa is perfect for watching a film after dinner. Sliding doors lead to the double bedroom, where bi-fold doors open straight to the outside. The hotel-style shower room, with twin basins and a large rainfall shower, keeps that just-for-two feeling throughout.

The enclosed outdoor area is great for both your dogs and the two of you. It faces south, offers several seating options, and is accessible from both the living area and the bedroom. There’s an outdoor tap and hose for washing sandy paws, and the external laundry room gives you secure storage for your beach gear.

Beadnell Bay is just 400 metres away, and the village offers several places to eat and drink within walking distance. After a day at the beach, you can rinse off the dogs and choose to relax in the garden for the evening or head out for dinner together.

2 BEDROOMS · SLEEPS 4 · 1 DOG WELCOME · HARBOUR ROAD SEA VIEWS

The large arched window is what makes Fisherman’s Cottage feel so romantic. Two comfortable chairs are placed right by it, offering a direct view of the sea from the open-plan lounge and dining area. Among pastel cottages on Beadnell’s harbour road, this former fisherman’s home is a lovely place to escape daily routines for a few days.

A wood-burner-effect fire brings warmth on chilly evenings, and the dining set-up provides meals with a view. Upstairs, the king-size bedroom also looks out over the Northumberland coast, and both bathrooms have underfloor heating, which is especially nice in winter.

For the dog, the outside space is set up. A quiet path shared with neighbours runs between the kitchen and the outdoor dining area, and that first area isn’t fully enclosed. Beyond a gate, there’s a secure, paved space with a furnished summer house, so you have a sheltered, cosy place to spend time together.

Beadnell’s cafés, pubs and restaurants are about 0.3 miles away, with the harbour, bay and coastal walks all reached from the village. You can spend the day outside with the dog, eat locally and return to those window-side chairs for an amazing nightcap.

1 BEDROOM · SLEEPS 2 · 2 DOGS WELCOME · SOUTH-WEST-FACING TERRACE

The garden is what makes North Sands special. The south-west-facing porcelain patio gets the late afternoon sun, with a table for two next to the bungalow and extra seating among the raised flower beds. This turns a cosy one-bedroom romantic stay into a place where you can have breakfast outside and relax in the afternoons after a long beach walk.

The wooden fencing continues around the front and side terraces, enclosing both the paved and gravelled areas and giving your dogs room for a morning sniff. There is enough room for your dogs to move around and have a morning sniff. Inside, the kitchen, breakfast bar, and sitting area are all in one open-plan space. Plantation shutters give you privacy, and the king-size bedroom and walk-in shower make the layout simple and comfortable. Everything is on the ground floor, so it is even more ideal for an older dog that struggles with stairs.

The beach, village shop, three cafés, and two pubs that serve food are all within 250 metres, and they are all dog-friendly. There is a £150 Good Housekeeping bond at this property. North Sands offers beach walks, breakfast outdoors, and quiet evenings in the garden, all in a lovely corner of Beadnell.
